“Let us have a world of ordinary people, living life the way God wants us to… If we have a world of ordinary people, extraordinary things will happen to me and you…
Every little baby has the power to be great and every tall tree grew up from some mustard seed.
…No ordinary leader is worth dying for... ”
I decided to start today’s post with my favorite parts of the lyrics of Cobhams’ ‘Ordinary People’ which was released January 1st 2014.
Privileged to have been at an all night concert in Kaduna State in December 2013, where Cobhams performed the song live before it was released, (yeah! I just had to point that out, ha!) I have never looked at Nigeria, or Nigerians the same again since then.
Watching his TED appearance where he talked about the ‘gift of blindness’, I learnt to stop giving excuses for failures as a Nigerian (I remember shedding a few tears after I saw that video).
Cobhams is a star. He has carved out a niche for himself. Despite being born with visual impairment, he chose to see it as a gift of focus.
His love and ear for good music led him to learn different instruments… and today he is one of the leading music producers, songwriter, and musician in Nigeria and of all time.
Need i add more?
His Life, is an inspirational, motivational, practical and eye opener to life. He makes me all too excited to represent the Green White Green. He makes me eager and proud to say I am Proudly Nigerian!
